We have just completed day two of the second session of our in-person workshops at the College of Europe in Natolin!
So much happened today. Anneli Ahonen and Anneli Kimber, from the EEAS StratCom Task Force, met with participants to talk about the EU’s fight against disinformation. Ayman Mhanna, who leads the SKEyes Center, led a discussion on media freedoms, journalism safety, and media sustainability around the whole world.
Following this, we spoke with Dr Roxane Farmanfarmaian, touching upon media freedoms, the rise and impact of new media, and much more. A deeply practical session followed, in which Daniel Rząsa taught us about advanced search tools, multimedia and data visualisation techniques, and many more ways in which we can use digital technology to enhance our reporting.
We ended the day with a wide fireside chat, in which several of the journalism scholars we work with sat down for a bigger, Chatham House rules, discussion on the future of journalism!
